Let me start with, I understand that an incomplete signing or a signing full of errors can cost a mortgage officer a rate lock, a buyer to miss a close of escrow, or just cause everyone involved headaches. That is why I don't ever miss any dates, initials, or signatures. I actually walk your borrowers through all of the important docs: the closing statement, note, the deed, and CD. Unlike other notary's, I don't just shovel the loan docs in front of the borrower and say, “sign here, I am just a notary.” I understand that I have to be impartial, but not uneducated. I always make sure your borrower knows what they are signing by guiding them through the loan docs
